How to Keep the Romance Alive in a Marriage

Once the honeymoon is over, the romance doesn’t have to be. Romance needs to last all throughout your marriage. Romance isn’t just about sex as most people believe but it is the bond that connects the two of you together. Romance keeps a couple together and allows you both the chance to fall in love with each other over and over again.

The first thing you need to do is write down all the dates that are important such as your partner’s birthday, your wedding anniversary or the date you two started dating or the day you two first met. When these special days come up, let her know that you remember this important day by taking her out for a special dinner, or better yet cook her a nice candled dinner at home. Be sure to let her know that she is still important to you and always will be.

When the two of you are done with dinner, make a toast to your partner. It doesn’t have to be with fancy champagne or an expensive wine. You can make a toast with water, iced tea or soda. When you are making your toast, tell her one thing you like about her; name one of her best traits. This will make her feel special and will make the romance in your marriage flourish.

Another romantic gesture is the power of touch. When you are standing besides him, a warm hug or just holding hands will let him know that you will always stand beside him.

Share important things with him. Marriage is a pledge to share with each other. Share all things that are important or significant with him. It could be something as simple as sharing an article you saw in the newspaper or online. This will make him feel that you took the time to think of him during your busy day.

Do something special for her, just because. It doesn’t have to be an anniversary or birthday, just because you love her is reason enough. And dong something special doesn’t mean it has to be elaborate or expensive either. Make her breakfast in bed on a Sunday morning. Or have her coffee ready on a weekday morning when you know she is rushing to get out the door for work.

When some people get settled into a relationship or marriage, they start to get comfortable with their clothing. During the dating stages, most of use will dress up to look nice for the other person. But after all is settled down, we start wearing holey jeans and a t-shirt most of the time. Well why not dress up for your partner once in a while. You want to keep up with your good looks, no matter if you have been dating for two months or married 10 ten years. It will remind your partner of the days of long ago and the romance will most likely be revived.
